TL;DR

  • The campaign has officially closed.
  • Surveys will begin being sent out early next week; please fill them out promptly!

  • Tiers are estimated to ship Fall 2026, and add-ons will follow during the first quarter of 2027.

Our favorite worldhopping storyteller has finished his lightweaving…for now.

Worldsingers, we’ve done it! The campaign is now officially closed. Your spheres have been put to good use, and we’re working hard on our end to get all of Hoid’s stories and artifacts to your lovely homes before the next highstorm. Be sure to fill out your backer surveys promptly, so that our chulls can expeditiously deliver your pledges once fulfillment begins. Backer surveys will begin being sent out early next week, so keep an eye on your email! Please remember that your survey must be completed and your pledge amount paid before your rewards can ship. If you have already backed this project, you will gain access to the same selections of add-ons as the pre-order store through your backer survey. 

Backers who used the pay over time option will be able to access their survey after all four payments have been processed. All the same add-ons within our pre-order store will be available for pay over time backers within their surveys, even after the April 13th deadline. 


How to select your cover of The Fires of December.

As a reminder, you will be able to select which cover variant you want for The Fires of December through your backer survey. If you have purchased multiple copies you will be asked to select which cover you want for each copy you purchased. 


Let’s review our shipping timelines!

All tier rewards will ship in the fall of 2026. If this changes, we’ll notify you on future updates. All physical add-ons will ship separately during the first quarter of 2027.


Hoid’s Worldsinger Symposium: Anthology will be digitally released.

Thank you to all the talented Worldsingers who participated in Hoid’s Worldsinger Symposium! We were awestruck by the level of creativity and wit we saw from each of the entries, both written and weaved. The finished non-canonical Hoidian tale and the submissions from the Worldsinger Gallery that will be included in Hoid’s Worldsinger Symposium: Anthology will be distributed through BackerKit later this year. To see all of the entries for the gallery, enter the Hoid’s Worldsinger Symposium tab of this project. To see the finished tale you wrote together before the Anthology is released, visit the same tab. 

We’re excited to share the Anthology masterfully weaved together by YOU!

We have the best fans in the business—people who care about their bookshelves as much as we care about what goes on them. Because of you, we get to make two stunning versions of the same story!

The bottom line is that we want you to be ecstatic when your copy arrives. When your backer survey lands in your inbox, you'll be able to choose whichever cover you love most. And if you purchased an additional copy, you're welcome to select one of each!

The Fires of December Poll

As promised, we have published the poll for the cover of The Fires of December. We appreciate your patience. It was important to us that we present the most complete depiction of each cover before the poll was posted. Only backers of the campaign can vote, so don’t miss your chance to come and make your voice heard. Before you vote, please watch this video for an in-depth overview for both potential covers. We cannot wait to get this fantastic story—complete with the  full premium hardcover treatment—to you later this year! 

Backer surveys are approaching

Our campaign closes in 7 days! We will send out backer surveys via email in early April.  Please keep a lookout for your survey, as you will want to complete these as quickly as possible to help ensure there are no delays once fulfillment begins. The survey will include your shipping, taxes, and VAT when applicable. If you have backed using a pay-over-time payment option, you will not receive your backer survey until you have paid your pledge in full. Please remember that your survey must be completed and your pledge paid before rewards can ship.

Middle East shipping update

We recently received word that due to military conflict in the Middle East, our shipping partners are not currently able to send packages to Israel, UAE, Qatar, Kuwait, and Saudi Arabia. We are hopeful that shipping will resume by the time fulfillment begins later this year. We will not prohibit pledges from the impacted countries, as we don't want fans from those areas to miss out on campaign-exclusive items. We will be in direct contact with those in affected areas as we get closer to fulfillment if shipping has not resumed.

Brandon’s next livestream will be a celebration of the end of the campaign on March 27th at 6:00PM MDT (1:00AM UTC)! Watch it to celebrate your favorite jester’s newest travails.

Join other Worldsingers as you weave your own tale! A writing prompt has been given on the Hoid’s Worldsinger Symposium tab of this project, and every day until the close of this campaign (March 27, 2026) you will have a chance to add to the Collaborative Narrative. The entry with the most likes daily will be added to this storybook of your own creation! 

Send your fan art inspired by the story you’re writing in the Collaborative Narrative to the link found in the Symposium and we will feature it in our Worldsinger Gallery! Please ensure that the content of your submissions for both the Collaborative Narrative and the Worldsinger Gallery meet our terms and conditions. Artists are allowed up to two art submissions throughout the duration of the campaign. Your last day to submit to the gallery will be March 27, 2026. Remember that select art submissions will be included in the digital release of Hoid’s Worldsinger Symposium: Anthology!

Your Opinion Matters

As mentioned during the launch night livestream, we see and hear the spirited discussion within the fandom surrounding The Fires of December cover. The promised poll for the community is still coming, we just are not quite ready to publish it yet. Our wonderful creative team wants to ensure they can provide the best examples of the final product for each prospective cover. This poll will only be available for backers of the campaign so make sure to make your voice heard.

Answers to Your Pre-campaign Reservation Questions

We can’t believe how many of you have already started your own herd of ChasmFriends. However, the logistics of getting a friend or two shipped from the Crackity Plains to your home is no small undertaking. (Have you ever tried to wake Darren from a nap?) We wanted to clarify a few common questions we’ve seen surrounding the $5 reservation for those who selected this before the campaign launched:

  • If you have any physical tier rewards or add-ons, the $5 reservation pin will be shipped with your physical tier rewards or add-ons, so there is no additional shipping cost. The $5 reservation pin will automatically be added to the list of rewards that will ship to you; there is no need for further action.
  • If you paid for the $5 reservation pin and we do not ship to your country you will be eligible for a refund after pledge surveys are sent out. Please submit a support ticket after surveys are sent out so we can assist. 
  • If you paid for the $5 reservation pin and only backed digital items, you will be given an option with your pledge survey to either pay for shipping if you want to get the pin, or to get a refund of $5 if the shipping for the pin is more than you want to pay.

These changes are to ensure that fans have a choice in the case you’ve opted for digital-only rewards. Thank you for all of your support with this campaign!

Hello backers, we did it!

Brandon will be hosting a livestream to celebrate the launch of Hoid’s Storybook Collection today (March 3, 2026) at 6:00PM MST (1:00AM UTC). We’re sure you can see the joyspren surrounding us as we share the news that our campaign is officially funded! Once again, we’re able to bring the magic of Brandon’s worlds to life because of YOU. As if getting four enchantingly illustrated storybooks wasn’t enough, Brandon’s newest secret project The Fires of December is an adventure we know you’ll love as much as we did. Remember that the gold foiling on each of the picture books and the printed edges for The Fires of December will only be available for purchase during the lifetime of this BackerKit project. You’ll want to act now to guarantee their spot on your Sandershelf!

Now is the perfect time to collect your ChasmFriend Blind Bag pins to be able to trade with other Worldhoppers and complete your herd. The price of these collectible cuties is only $10 during the project launch, but will increase after the campaign closes. 

If you reserved a ChasmFriend pin pre-campaign, as long as you have backed the campaign and completed your backer survey once it is sent out, the pin will automatically be sent with your pledge rewards.

A story doesn’t live until it is imagined

To celebrate the launch of Hoid’s Storybook Collection, we want to invite our backers to join in weaving a non-canonical Hoidian tale. Hoid’s Worldsinger Symposium is our new Stormlight-infused collaborative storytelling experience! Join the beloved Worldsinger’s ranks as you and other backers come together to tell a story of your own in the Collaborative Narrative. A writing prompt has been given on the Hoid’s Worldsinger Symposium tab of this project. Every day until the close of this campaign, you will have a chance to add to the narrative. It’s up to you Worldsingers to determine whose response is the best, as the entry with the most likes will be added to this storybook of your own creation! We will accept one submission per day, based on votes. If the content of a submission does not comply with our terms and conditions, it will be rejected. 

The symposium will also include a Worldsinger Gallery! Send your fan art inspired by the Collaborative Narrative you’re creating via the submission link found within the Symposium. As long as your art adheres to our terms and conditions, we will feature it in our Worldsinger Gallery. Artists are allowed up to two art submissions during the campaign. Select art submissions, as well as the completed narrative, will be included in a free digital release entitled Hoid’s Worldsinger Symposium: Anthology.
